Position Overview
We are looking for a meticulous and proactive Data Entry & Customer Service Specialist to support our operations team. This remote, part-time role is perfect for someone who is highly organized, has a sharp eye for detail, and enjoys working with data in a fast-paced environment. Your responsibilities will include entering, updating, and verifying critical data while also supporting customer inquiries with professionalism and clarity.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately input, review, and manage data across multiple internal systems
- Transcribe physical and digital documents into structured electronic records
- Maintain and update order and customer information with precision
- Perform general clerical duties including scanning, filing, and organizing documents
- Use Excel functions, including pivot tables and charts, to compile and analyze data
- Communicate with team members to identify and resolve data inconsistencies
- Provide basic support to customers, including responding to inquiries via email or chat
- Conduct routine checks to ensure data accuracy and completeness
Required Skills & Competencies
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Strong typing speed with a high degree of accuracy
- Experience with Google Docs and Adobe Acrobat
- Working knowledge of ERP systems and data entry in Excel
- Familiarity with transcription and chart-building tools
- Comfortable with EDI platforms and Windows OS
- Strong organizational skills and a methodical approach to tasks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Basic math skills for verifying and calculating data
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines independently
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field
- Prior experience in a data entry, administrative support, or customer service role
- Hands-on experience with pivot tables and basic data analysis
- Familiarity with CRM or customer service platforms is a plus
