Position: Library User Services Staff
Department: Salmon Library
Work Type: Non exempt On Call , Staff Hourly
Location: Alabama
Salary: $28,780 ($13.80/hr. maximum 28 hours a week)
Purpose:
Help support the Salmon Library User Services Desk by handling circulation services, assisting patrons, managing supervising student workers, supporting library outreach, and managing building operations during assigned shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
Includes checkout and return of library materials including interlibrary loans and reserves.
Help patrons with account issues, fines, and fees.
Collect information and answer research and informational questions and questions related to policies.
Troubleshoot library computers, printers, and library software.
Responsible for overseeing library opening and closing procedures.
Oversees and aids library student workers.
Provide support to outreach and engagement programs.
As they work on their special projects and library-wide initiatives.
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Some experience with reliability, attention to detail, and… supervising student workers.
(Optional) Nights (5–10 PM) and weekends as needed
Able to handle safety and emergency procedures in a building.
Preferred Qualifications:
Library Science Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree.
More specifically, 1-2 years of experience in libraries or Higher Education.
