About the Role

We’re hiring a Medical Record Specialist (Value-Based Care) to support our clinical operations by ensuring accurate, up-to-date medical records that enable informed care delivery. In this role, you will review and organize external medical documents, prepare charts, identify care gaps, and assist providers by ensuring records are complete and accessible.

This position reports to the Lead Medical Record Specialist.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review external medical records and update patient charts in Athenahealth EMR
  • Identify and document quality gaps and key health trends for clinical review
  • Request and track external medical records from facilities
  • Transfer lab results and relevant clinical data to appropriate EMR sections
  • Support HEDIS measure gap closure using proprietary tools
  • Ensure records are categorized accurately for provider access
  • Assist with pre-visit planning and documentation tasks
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required:

  • Associate degree or Medical Records Certification (e.g. AHIMA)
  • 3+ years of healthcare experience focused on medical records or health information
  • Proficiency with EMRs and digital documentation tools
  • Strong attention to detail

Preferred:

  • Experience in pre-visit planning
  • Familiarity with Athenahealth
  • Comfortable with GSuite and Google apps
