About the Role
We are looking for a proactive Security Engineer, Detect & Respond to join our information security team. You will help protect our platform and customers from evolving threats by monitoring, investigating, and responding to security incidents. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys hunting for threats, improving detection coverage, and strengthening our defenses.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events, triage potential incidents, and respond to confirmed threats.
- Develop and maintain detection rules, SIEM queries, and automated response playbooks.
- Conduct security investigations, including endpoint, cloud, and identity-based incidents.
- Perform threat hunting to identify suspicious activity and emerging attack patterns.
- Partner with engineering and operations teams to remediate vulnerabilities and harden systems.
- Document incident timelines, root cause analyses, and lessons learned for continuous improvement.
- Stay current on the latest threats, tools, and techniques to evolve the detection program.
Requirements and Skills
- 3+ years of experience in security operations, incident response, or detection engineering.
- Strong understanding of cloud security (AWS), SIEM tools, and endpoint detection technologies.
- Experience with log analysis, scripting (Python, PowerShell), and automation.
- Knowledge of common attack techniques (MITRE ATT&CK) and detection best practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication, especially during incident response.
- Certifications such as Security+, CISSP, or similar are a plus.
Compensation
Salary: $145,000 – $180,000 / year. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for bonus, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package. The exact base salary depends on experience, skills, and location.
