About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Data Privacy Specialist to help manage privacy programs, data protection processes, and compliance requirements across a global organization. You will work with legal, security, engineering, and business teams to identify privacy risks and develop practical solutions for handling personal data.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage data privacy assessments and compliance projects.
- Review how personal and sensitive data is collected, stored, processed, and shared.
- Conduct privacy impact assessments for new products and business processes.
- Develop and maintain privacy policies, procedures, and internal guidelines.
- Work with security and engineering teams to address privacy risks.
- Support data subject request and data retention processes.
- Maintain records of data processing activities.
- Monitor changes in global privacy regulations and requirements.
- Assist with privacy audits and compliance reviews.
- Provide practical privacy guidance to cross-functional teams.
- Develop employee privacy training and awareness materials.
Advanced Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in data privacy, privacy compliance, or information governance.
- Strong understanding of global data protection principles.
- Advanced knowledge of privacy risk assessments and compliance programs.
- Experience with privacy impact assessments and data mapping.
- Strong understanding of data governance and retention practices.
- Experience working with legal, security, and technology teams.
- Strong analytical and documentation skills.
- Ability to manage complex privacy projects independently.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Experience working with international or distributed teams.
Preferred Skills
- Professional privacy certification such as CIPP, CIPM, or equivalent.
- Experience with GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, or other major privacy frameworks.
- Familiarity with OneTrust or similar privacy-management platforms.
- Knowledge of information security principles.
- Experience working in SaaS, technology, or financial-services organizations.
