About Maze
Maze is the user research platform that helps companies build the right products faster by making user insights available at the speed of product development.
In most companies, research demand far exceeds supply. Time, cost, and lack of access to expertise hold teams back. In today’s AI-powered world, anyone can build a product fast. The real challenge? Deeply understanding user needs and building the right product. That is where Maze comes in.
We believe companies should not have to choose between building fast and building right. Maze makes research accessible, intuitive, and fast so product teams can put user insights at the center of every decision.
Our platform enables researchers, designers, and product managers to quickly recruit participants, run studies autonomously, and surface insights that actually drive product decisions. Our AI capabilities automate the busywork and add depth and direction to the insights themselves.
That is why Maze was recently named the #1 user research platform in UX Tools Design Tools Survey and why we are scaling fast across industries like B2B SaaS, e-Commerce, Financial Services, Retail, and Automotive, supporting world class customers such as Uber, Amazon, Atlassian, Anthropic and more.
Maze is a Series B company backed by top-tier investors (Felicis, Emergence and Amplify). We operate a global remote workforce driven by our core values.
Location: Remote, preference for Netherlands, United Kingdom, Ireland, Spain or Portugal. Key engineering and product teams are based in these locales.
The Role
We are hiring a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our Platform team and help us build secure, reliable, and scalable systems as Maze grows.
This role sits at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, reliability, and security. You will work across our platform to improve how we operate production systems, strengthen our security practices, and give engineers the tooling and infrastructure they need to ship quickly and confidently.
We are looking for someone who enjoys working across boundaries, takes ownership, and brings a pragmatic approach to solving problems. You do not need to be an expert in every part of our stack, but you should be excited to learn, move quickly, and make an impact.
As an SRE at Maze, You Will
- Build, operate, and evolve our cloud infrastructure with reliability, scalability, and security in mind
- Improve our observability practices and help engineers understand, debug, and operate systems in production
- Partner across engineering and security to strengthen our cloud security posture and operational practices
- Support security and compliance initiatives, including vulnerability management, security testing, and audit readiness
- Build tooling and automation that reduces manual work and improves the developer experience
- Bring an operational and security perspective to architecture and technical decisions
- Improve how we prepare for, respond to, and learn from production incidents
- Use modern AI-assisted and agentic workflows to build, debug, and operate systems more effectively
We Are Looking for Someone Who
- Has experience building and operating production systems in a modern cloud environment, ideally AWS
- Understands modern SRE and infrastructure practices, including infrastructure as code and containerized workloads
- Has experience with observability and knows what good monitoring, alerting, and production visibility look like
- Brings a security mindset, with experience or interest in cloud security, vulnerability management, application security, or related areas
- Has exposure to security and compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001, or is interested in developing deeper expertise in this area
- Can automate repetitive work using code and is comfortable working with at least one programming language
- Is excited about AI-assisted development and actively uses modern AI tools in their work
- Thrives in a fast-moving environment where ownership, curiosity, and pragmatic decision-making matter
The Stack
- Cloud and infrastructure: AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker
- Observability: Datadog
- Security and compliance: Vanta, Socket
- CI/CD: GitHub Actions, Argo CD
- Data: PostgreSQL, Neo4j, Snowflake
- Application: TypeScript, Node.js, React
You do not need experience with every technology in our stack. We care more about strong fundamentals, an ability to learn quickly, and excitement about helping us build reliable and secure systems as Maze scales.
Inclusivity and Pay
At Maze, we are dedicated to building an equitable, inclusive, and authentic workspace. Unique and diverse perspectives are welcomed, and continuous growth is encouraged. We believe that people are more than their resumes, so if your past experience looks different than the criteria listed, we would still love to hear from you.
Salary: EUR 109,000 – 128,000 per year. Maze values transparency and it enables us to approach compensation equitably across the world. We are informed by data and regularly check our salary ranges against other venture backed companies. Your salary is dependent upon many factors, including years of experience, expertise, etc.
