Role Overview
We’re seeking a passionate and trend-savvy Social Media & Content Specialist with firsthand knowledge of Greek life and viral social trends. If you’re a creative storyteller who lives and breathes TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube — and can bring fresh, relatable content ideas to life — this role is for you.
In this contract position, you’ll create and curate multiple daily posts across our platforms, using your unique voice and cultural insight to drive reach, engagement, and follower growth. You’ll collaborate with our social media team to stay ahead of digital trends and shape content that resonates with the Gen Z audience.
What You’ll Do
- Create original and engaging short-form video and visual content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts
- Identify trending topics and memes, tailoring them to align with Her Campus Media’s voice and audience
- Write compelling social captions that speak Gen Z’s language
- Manage content scheduling and post tracking
- Engage with community members and respond to comments/messages
- Source and repost community-created content (with proper permission)
- Monitor performance metrics and optimize content accordingly
- Stay informed on the latest digital and cultural trends, especially in Greek life and college lifestyle spaces
What We’re Looking For
- Current undergraduate student or recent graduate
- Excellent communication, creativity, and organizational skills
- Strong understanding of TikTok and Instagram from both a creator and consumer standpoint
- Confident on camera and skilled in video editing tools
- Passionate about Greek life, college experiences, and youth-driven culture
- Familiarity with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, etc.)
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team
- A strong interest in pop culture, beauty, lifestyle, and social storytelling
